Once a month we hold a coffee morning in aid of a local charity. We meet on the first Wednesday of the month from 10.30 to about noon, and people come and go during the session. Coffee, tea, cakes and biscuits are free, with people giving a small donation if they are able. Once we reach our target of £100, the money is given to the chosen charity, and we start collecting for the next good cause.

The atmosphere is friendly, and everyone is made very welcome. Currently we have an age range from a few months old to the mid-nineties! Numbers range from about 18 to 30 people, and the room buzzes with the sound of many conversations. We have people from the village and surrounding areas, many of whom were brought up in the area, though others have moved in from far afield and have made Newbridge their home. Others come from several miles away.

One great attraction for those who have memories of the village long ago, is a constant supply of old photographs, brought in by one of the older members. People have great fun trying to identify faces and buildings from the past. There is a chance to make new friends or to renew old acquaintances, and folk are often reluctant to leave at the end of the morning.
