Let me start by apologising that the promised recordings of the services at Pentref on 11th & 18th October are not available due to a glitch in the technology.

Having been reopened for worship over the last few weeks it is with sadness that we now have to close again for another 3 weeks.

Although we will be closing the chapel building, the work of the church will carry on as people pray and care for each other through telephone calls and the ‘wonders’ of modern technology. Bible reflections and Communion services will continue to be held through Zoom.

All being well, we will re-open for worship on the 15th November. Although we will be meeting once again, ‘normal service’ will not be resumed. If there is no change to the guidelines there will still be a number of restrictions in place. Because of this there will be no singing of hymns during the service, and no refreshments will be served after the service.

In line with the guidelines, the leaders of the chapel have carried out a risk assessment, a full copy of which can be read on the chapel’s website: www.newbridgebaptistchurch.co.uk

Over the last few weeks while we were able to meet every effort was made to keep those people attending safe. All surfaces are washed and disinfected between meetings and stewards are in place at the door to help people comply with safety measures that have been put in place. These measures will continue when we re-open on November 15th.

Although we are happy to welcome all who wish to attend a service at the chapel, we would ask that people comply with the measures outlined in the Risk Assessment and follow the instructions of the stewards.

If any of the following points apply to you then please do not attend:
• Those experiencing Corona-virus symptoms:
New continuous cough.
High Temperature.
Loss of or change to your normal sense of smell or taste.
• Those who are self-isolating.
• Those who have been contacted and advised to self-isolate by Track & Trace.

We look forward to welcoming old friends and new faces to join us for worship on Sunday 15th November.
From Sunday 15th November Services will continue on a Sunday morning for the foreseeable future. Other activities in the chapel building will recommence when the Welsh Assembly permits them to re-start.

If you are unable to attend worship on a Sunday Morning, a recording of the service will be available online. Follow the ‘Sermons on the Web’ link on the chapel’s website.

On Sunday evenings at 5:00pm & Thursday afternoons at 2:30pm Bible Reflections and Communion Services will continue in the virtual world on Zoom. To get a link to join the meetings please email the secretary on Elsa.harflett@hotmail.com

May God continue to bless you in these strange and difficult times.
